Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Phuentsholing
Enter Bhutan via Phuentsholing on the southern border.
Bike handover and orientation for Royal Enfield motorcycles.
Short ride in Phuentsholing to familiarize with the bikes and local streets.
Overnight stay in Phuentsholing.
Day 2: Phuentsholing → Thimphu (165 km / 5–6 hrs ride)
Scenic ride ascending through hill roads to Thimphu, the capital.
Stop en route for photos and refreshments in quaint villages.
Evening visit to Buddha Dordenma and explore Thimphu city.
Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 3: Thimphu → Punakha (77 km / 2.5 hrs ride)
Ride via the Dochu La Pass (3,140m) with panoramic Himalayan views and 108 chortens.
Explore Punakha Dzong and optionally walk across the suspension bridge over Mo Chhu River.
Overnight in Punakha.
Day 4: Punakha → Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley) (100 km / 3 hrs ride)
Ride to Phobjikha Valley, home of black-necked cranes (seasonal).
Visit Gangtey Monastery and explore the valley meadows.
Overnight in Gangtey.
Day 5: Gangtey → Trongsa → Bumthang (180 km / 5–6 hrs ride)
Long scenic ride across central Bhutan’s valleys and mountain passes.
Stop at Trongsa Dzong for photography and cultural exploration.
Continue to Bumthang, the spiritual heart of Bhutan.
Overnight in Bumthang.
Day 6: Bumthang Exploration
Explore Jakar Dzong, Kurje Lhakhang, and local artisan villages.
Optional short rides around scenic valleys for photography.
Overnight in Bumthang.
Day 7: Bumthang → Gelephu (220 km / 6–7 hrs ride)
Descend southwards toward Gelephu, passing forests, rivers, and picturesque villages.
Enjoy the contrast of Himalayan landscapes transitioning to the subtropical plains.
Overnight in Gelephu.
Day 8: Departure from Gelephu
Optional early morning ride around Gelephu.
Bike return and transfer to Gelephu border/airport for onward journey.
